Balgownie Preschool & Montessori Centre, located in the scenic Illawarra region between the ocean and the escarpment, offers high-quality childcare and educational services for children aged 18 months to 6 years.

Our centre features two dedicated rooms to cater to the different age groups. One room is designed specifically to suit children from 18 months to 3 years old, and the other caters to 3 to 6 year olds. We can accommodate up to 34 children daily at our centre.

Our philosophy is grounded in the understanding, supported by extensive research, that the first six years of a child's life are crucial for learning. It is during this period that children absorb knowledge, develop their skills, and investigate their environment. This is also when they establish lifelong attitudes and learning patterns. ​Our balanced approach, combining free play with the structured Montessori program, aligns seamlessly with the Early Years Learning Framework curriculum.

Our goal is to create an engaging and dynamic environment that reflects the interests of the children. We also strive to incorporate aspects of the communities and cultures of our children, their families and our educators into our service.
